Serious Writing

In terms of long periods of hanging round being vaguely baffled, following the LIBOR trial felt like faxing Godot (but probably worth it?).

In terms of going a bit London Review Of Books, I put a lot into thinking about our Savile complicity via the play about his crimes. But just as much into dissecting low-brow comedy changeling Lee Evans when he retired.

There can be few belly laughs in any character study on dour ex-Grauniad ed Alan Rusbridger. Yet all my psychic prying of the owlish ed still didn't bar me from reporting on the screwy Apartheid B-movie industry for his paper. Nor from writing an anatomy of the seasonal Great British tabloid drug story centred around those poor girls in Peru.
